All the guests usually just see the finished room. The decorations, the arrangements, and the atmosphere that make an occasion memorable.
But what they don't see are the countless hours of preparation, the personal financial investment, and the work required to bring everything together.
Through Everlasting Event Coordinators, Ramona Neal provides event setup, decorations, and event supplies for rent. What began as a passion for decorating has become an entrepreneurial journey filled with lessons about business, finances, and the true value of her work.
Behind the finished spaces is a story of taking chances, working through financial obstacles, and learning what it really takes to turn a passion into a business.
THE STORY BEHIND EVERLASTING EVENT COORDINATORS

For Ramona, event decorating is more than arranging a room. With approximately ten years of experience coordinating events, she's built her work around helping people bring their most important moments to life.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
For Ramona, the journey began with something simple, a genuine love for decorating and bringing people's visions to life.
With her years of experience around events, Ramona was no stranger to the work. But turning that experience into a business was another matter entirely.
She spent three years considering the idea before finally taking action.
The defining moment came when she helped set up a wedding for a family friend. When the bride saw the wonder work, from the finished decorations to the memorable atmosphere, she was amazed by how beautifully everything had come together.
That reaction helped Ramona see something important. What she enjoyed doing could be more than a passion. It could be a business.
And with that realization, the foundation for Everlasting Event Coordinators was beginning to take shape.
THE TURNING POINT

Many people already have a hard time recognizing an opportunity. What’s even more rare is turning that opportunity into a business.
For Ramona, one of the biggest obstacles wasn't a lack of passion or experience. Like many entrepreneurs, it was the financial commitment required to get started.
She worried about the cost of launching her business which isn’t foreign when someone is beginning to the build their dream from scratch. But rather than allowing that concern to keep her from moving forward, she took her first concrete step by advertising her services on Facebook.
That decision marked the beginning of a new challenge. It was no longer just about creating beautiful spaces. It was about understanding the business behind them.
One of the most valuable lessons came from undercharging for event setups.
What might look like a straightforward decorating job often involves numerous hours of preparation, physical labor, transportation, and careful attention to detail. Ramona realized that the time and effort required to deliver her services needed to be reflected in what she charged.
Looking back, she wishes she had understood sooner just how much time and labor goes into decorating.
She also acknowledges that financial struggles have been part of her entrepreneurial journey.
Since financial struggles have been understandably apart of her journey, it’s something most people don’t know about her. I asked what her life might look like if she had waited another five years to start, she said she would probably be a little more stable financially.
Her experience highlights a reality many business owners eventually have to confront: being good at what you do and knowing how to run a profitable business, are two very different skills.
Passion may inspire someone to begin, but understanding the value of their work is essential to building something profitable sustainable.
BUILDING SOMETHING THAT LASTS

For Ramona, the vision extends far beyond decorating the next wedding or coordinating another celebration.
She wants to build something bigger.
When asked where she sees Everlasting Event Coordinators in the next three to five years, her answer was ambitious: a team of 20 people or more.
It's a goal that represents more than business growth. Building a team of that size would mean creating opportunities for others, expanding the company's ability to serve clients, and transforming what began as a personal passion into a larger operation.
A team that size would mean creating opportunities for others, serving more clients, and turning a personal passion into a larger operation.
But Ramona understands that growth doesn’t happen overnight. Her experience with startup costs, pricing mistakes, and financial challenges has shown her the less glamorous side of entrepreneurship, and those lessons will matter more as she grows.
For now, her focus remains on coordinating more events, showcasing her work, and continuing to develop Everlasting Event Coordinators.
And while her long term vision is ambitious, her story reminds us that building something meaningful doesn't require having everything figured out from the beginning.
Sometimes, it starts with recognizing what you love doing, finding the courage to pursue it, and learning how to make that passion sustainable.
Because building a business isn't just about where you start. It's about what you're willing to learn along the way.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
When asked what advice she would give someone who has a business idea but is afraid to take the first step, Ramona's response was simple:
"Start today because you have to start somewhere."
It’s a short statement, but it reflects her own path. From spending years considering her idea to navigating financial challenges and learning through experience, Ramona’s story shows that progress doesn’t require having every answer before you begin.
Sometimes the most important decision is also the simplest: just start.
WHAT COMES NEXT

For Ramona, the next chapter is about continuing to do what brought her here in the first place: creating memorable experiences through her passion for decorating.
Each new event is another chance to apply what she has learned about pricing, preparation, and the value of her time.
Her long-term ambitions are big, but her journey is a reminder that building something meaningful happens one decision, one challenge, and one opportunity at a time.
Her story is still being written.
And sometimes, the most inspiring stories aren't about businesses that have already made it. They're about the people who refuse to stop building.
